You Have Stayed Long Enough at this Mountain

Have you ever read Deuteronomy 1:6? It says, “The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain'”(ESV).

That is one powerful Scripture, read it again, “The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain‘” (ESV). Now, let’s take that in and use it today.

How long have you stayed at your mountain? How long have you lived in pain? How long have you stayed in a broken relationship? How long have you struggled? How long have you been disappointed? How long have you lived in shame?

My friends, let God say to you today, “You have stayed long enough at his mountain.” It’s time to move!

How long do you want to live in the valley? You can see the Promised Land, it’s just right in front of you, it’s not as far away as you think so, why are you still staring at the mountain? MOVE.

Maybe what happened to you is entirely unfair, I get that. Maybe it hurt, maybe it still hurts BUT, staying in pain and dwelling on what that person did or is doing will never get you anywhere. Right now, today, you get to decide if you want to live the rest of your life in this mess or “pick up your mat and walk” (John 5:8)!

You get to make that decision, that’s the blessing and the curse of free will. We get to decide if we want to live in shame and guilt and pain or if we want to move forward with what God has in store for us.

Look, we’ve been here long enough, we can see the Promised Land, we can see the luscious green grass, the blue skies, the blooming flowers, we can smell the beauty of it so why on earth are we still sitting here? It’s time to move forward.

You are one decision away from an entirely different life. Today is the day to make a new decision.

If you want dramatic results, you have to take dramatic action. Christ died for us to have an abundant life, he did not die for us to live in misery every single day.

Today, decide to move forward. Those chains you think are holding you down, those chains of pain, unforgiveness, hurt, sickness, resentment, those chains are broken! They’re not chained to anything, Christ has broken the chains so let them fall to the floor and stand up and MOVE!

Decide to get that new job, decide to fix that relationship or move on, decide to believe for healing, decide to walk in peace, decide to leave the drama behind, decide to move!

“YOU have stayed at this mountain long enough!”

C’mon folks, let’s go, abundant life is waiting for us and I don’t want to sit here anymore!
