It’s Time to Get a Vision: Creating a Vision Board

It’s Time to Write a New Story Part Two

A few days ago, I introduced the idea of writing a new story, that is, taking control of the narrative of your life and being brave enough to dream again.

The enemy might have waged an all-out war on you, maybe you’ve lost your marriage, your career or maybe you’re just sick of dealing with broken dreams and unmet expectations. Whatever the reason, sometimes, it is time to write a new story and today, we’re going to take the first step.

What is it?

A vision board.

Yep, I’m serious.

Vision: a mental image of what the future will or could be like.

Vision Board

This is step one and it might be the most important step in the whole process so, don’t skip it.

Here’s the deal, you have to stop and think about what you want in your life going forward. Let’s just take 2019, what do you envision? What do you feel God is leading you to do? What is God saying to you about the upcoming year? Start by answering those questions.

Pray about it and I mean really pray about it then, get ready to make your vision a real, tangible thing you can look at every single day and pray over, believe for and position yourself to receive.

This is your new story and it’s about to come to life.

Next, get a bulletin board, poster board, whatever you can find and either cut out magazine pictures and words or print them from the internet. These pictures and words need to match your vision for the next year, your goals, desires and whatever you believe God is leading you to do. Get all of it on the board.

“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible” (Hebrews 11:3).

Once you have completed your vision board, the real work is about to begin. Place your vision board where you will see it every single morning and every single morning, pray over the vision God has given to you and thank him for allowing those things to come to pass. And, be sure to do it out loud. Speak God’s Word out loud and tell the enemy what is up.

I stand in front of my vision board, pray over it and thank God for it. I also created Scriptures to go along with each of the items so I proclaim those as well. For example, I injured my back last year and it has been a long road to healing. In the last 7 months, I have had two back surgeries. So, I have a picture of a woman on my board that seems to be running and jumping with the word “Healed” close by it. The correlating Scripture I chose was John 5:8, “Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.'”

That Scripture might not seem like the normal healing Scriptures that we typically claim, however, that seems to be the most relatable to my situation as walking has not been easy.

I want to encourage you to do the same, think outside of the box and let God lead you to specific Scriptures you can pray over your vision board every single morning.

This step is important, don’t skip this one. We’re about to go on a journey that will lead you to the realization of everything on the board you create but, you have to first create the board.

Please take a moment to watch the video below, I not only show the vision board but also lay out the path we’re taking to end up in a place where these dreams become reality. I share the Scriptures as well as the thought process behind the whole thing and some of it, you might have never heard before.

Trust me on this one, take a few minutes and check it out and stay tuned, the next step is coming soon!

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).

Sarah = on your vision board, you have a sheet of paper that states “I AM’ at the top. Would you be willing to share some of the things you wrote?
