Strengthening Your Faith with Faithbox

Faithbox by Family Christian Stores

About a week ago, I received a Faithbox from Family Christian. A Faithbox is a monthly box which includes a devotional and products from great companies designed to help strengthen your faith. For every box they ship, Faithbox donates three meals to RICE BOWLS – a non-profit organization working to feed hungry children. In 2015 Faithbox was able to provide over 100,000 meals through Rice Bowls.

I am going to start by saying this blog review has impacted me more than any single review I have done in the last 10 years. In full disclosure, I was given a Faithbox for the purpose of blogging about it. I read about it, I liked it and I thought it would be a good fit for this website. That was it. I do that all the time and this was no different than any other time I had been offered a product except for one thing, the product was life changing. I’ll admit, that’s never happened.

I received the Faithbox and you know what? God knows right where you are in life and sometimes God will use things you just never saw coming to reach you right where you are and that is exactly what happened to me. Inside this month’s Faithbox was the book Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst. Let me just admit to you I must be living under a rock.

Uninvited

I had no idea who Lysa was until I received this box and that alone is shocking. I looked through the box of goodies and thought the whole thing was pretty cool. I picked up the book to thumb through it a bit and I was hit by a quote. When I say hit, I don’t mean a light brush, I mean a heart piercing, out of breathe, tears streaming kind of hit.

“Bitterness, resentment and anger have no place in a heart as beautiful as yours.”

That quote hit my heart and is exactly what I needed at that moment. Uninvited is a beautiful book dealing with rejection on a totally different level in fact, I didn’t even know rejection was an issue I had until I read the book. But, divorce,  life drama, loss of a job, those things can do a number to you and bitterness, resentment and anger can slowly creep in even when you do not realize it.

As I have read through this book, I have felt a peace. The kind of peace I haven’t felt in a long time, a sense of understanding of being able to let go. Thank you, Lysa for giving me the words to describe how I feel and opening the door wide to healing.

Faithbox is a wonderful tool to help strengthen your faith but it is also a tool that can help strengthen the faith of others. In other words, if you’re looking for the Christmas gift that keeps on giving, this is it.

Official disclosure: I was given a faithbox in exchange for a blog post however, the opinion and story above is 100% my own.
