I had a woman who used to complain to the news station about me regularly. She said I sounded nasal. She didn’t like it. She thought I needed vocal lessons to get rid of the “nasal” sound. This woman apparently had nothing better to do than send random e-mails every few months complaining about my voice.
Well, guess what? I live in Oklahoma. I am allergic to everything here like all of the other Oklahomans. Nasal is part of the accent really, if you think about it. It’s also a part of the voice God gave me and I’m not going to spend time feeling bad about it or using various devices to change my voice because one woman didn’t care for it.
I’m going to be me. (Yeah, I may have learned that from Girl Meets World).
Three points in that quote above and all three I love.
SCARE THE WORLD:
The world doesn’t know what to do you with you when you are who you say you are and you do what you say you will do and you tell the truth. The world is full of people hiding behind the curtain, let the curtain down and be who God created YOU to be.
BE EXACTLY WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE:
I am a Christian. I believe in God when it is easy and I believe in God when it is hard. I am not perfect nor will I ever claim to be but Jesus came to save the imperfect, the flawed, the broken and the hurting and I am all of those things. Christians are humans too, simply saved by grace.
TELL THE TRUTH:
The best thing about telling the truth is that you don’t have to think about it, it just is what it is. When you lie, you spend the rest of your life continuing to lie to cover up the first lie leaving you in nothing but a tangled web of lies. Lies hurt people while the truth sets people free.
SCARE THE WORLD: BE EXACTLY WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE AND TELL THE TRUTH.
Statements like that change lives and start revolutions. The world doesn’t need another “man behind the curtain”, we are all tired of fake people and let’s face it, those who are fake are tired of it too. Start a revolution in your own life today, step out and be real.
